The Oakland Unified School District has published calendars for the 2018-19 school year showing all district holidays and professional development days. Families should take note that the next school year begins one week earlier than usual and ends in May.

The calendars are available online as downloadable PDF documents in multiple languages (Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Khmer and English).
Key dates for the 2018-19 school year include:
- Aug. 13 – First Day of School
- Nov. 19-23 – Thanksgiving Break
- Dec. 24-Jan. 4 – Winter Break
- March 25-April 1 – Spring Break
- May 30 – Last Day of School
